About
The Full Story
The Greyhound Amateur Radio Club initially came to be December 10, 2007. The original purpose of the club was to promote the art and science of what many know as ham radio amongst ENMU staff, students, alumni, and other local community members. Now nearing 20 years later not much of the original goal has changed, We are here to promote our hobby and help those interested to successfully become licensed and get on the air. Amateur radio is more than just a hobby it is also a public service mechanism. We serve our local community through some of our members involved with ARES, the amateur radio emergency service and the NOAA Skywarn program. Both of these programs require some extensive training to ensure that when called upon we are ready to serve our community in times of need. This hobby has many other facets aside from emergency communications, there are digital modes, satellite communications, kit radio builds, the possibilities are near endless. We thank you for dropping by our webpage and hope to see you at a club meeting or public event in the near future!
